From what i can tell based on my search is that Windows Server 2012R2 has WSUS version 6.3.9600.17477 The link i used to find version was: Are WSUS updates stored inside a folder called WsusContent How can i verify this It is the one that is taking up a almost 1 TB of space I need to free disk space. What is the best method to handle wsus so i can delete old updates and free space.
Remove All Windows Xp S From Wsus Server 2016 Free Disk SpaceI went to Update Services, Options,Server Clean up Wizard, and kept the default options all ticked. Unused updates and update revisions Computers not contacting the server Unneeded update files Expired updates Superseded updates I didnt want to make any changes on the wsus server so i kept it to the default option when i run the clean up wizard. Am wondering now if it was the right choice to do since we are talking about 1 TB of updates. In options there is the Products and Classification which all products currently are selected. When you do remove the WID Feature, make sure to remove the entire C:WindowsWID folder too. The easiest way is to use SQL Server Management Studio to connect to the WID, and then right click on the SUSDB database Tasks Detach. Remove All Windows Xp S From Wsus Server 2016 Install The WSUSNow you should be able to re-install the WSUS role, and if necessary, the Windows Internal Database (WID) role too. Once WSUS is installed and working,.NET 4.7 can be reapplied and WSUS should still work. The idea here is that you do not want to remove the integral.NET component to Windows (eg..NET 4.5) as it will remove options like Server Manager and other features. What you want to do is make sure the integral component (eg..NET 4.5) is NOT upgraded to.NET 4.7 through Windows Update patches. If it works, the issue is a policy on your domain that is causing the issues. Then expand Databases and you should see SUSDB and any other databases on this instance.
